Geography has had limited interchange with the implications of major philosophical assumptions and paradigms in geographical education research methodology. This paper claims a closer engagement arguments on ontology, epistemology, axiology as well teaching strategies or paradigms. It is adopted much to offer geography, not least providing showground within which very different types inquiry i.e., qualitative quantitative, may find some common ground for helpful discussion debate geographic research. Nevertheless, this will only be fully accomplished if geography enters on: (1) studies that develop arrange clear positivist ideas concepts particular research; (2) attempt relate broader realm constructionism/ interpretivism tradition; (3) examination link pragmatism.
